Based on the well known trial of Lizzie Borden and supported by the leading historian on the Lizzie Borden case, Cara Robertson, this new musical reframes the entire Borden story. Following the perspective of her sister, Emma Borden, the show examines the facts of the trial and without claiming to know the answer. Allowing Emma and the audience to determine if Lizzie could bring herself to do something so horrific and pushing everyone to experience what happens when you don’t receive a clear answer to “Why?”
